About Chantal Marie Bourgonje

It's an illustrator!

Chantal is an illustrator, writer and graphic designer based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside where she lives with her 2 faithful whippets, and her one elderly chicken Enid, who often tries to steal sips of tea and pieces of cake. All the creatures and the lovely countryside around her give her plenty of inspiration! Especially the Old Uncle Horace cartoons.

History and background

Chantal is Dutch and studied fashion illustration at the CABK in Kampen (now artez in Zwolle), Holland and has recently graduated with a first class 1:1 BA (Hons) degree in sequential illustration and narrative at the Swindon School of Art (Bath University). In a previous life Chantal used to be an International Organisational Development Manager and is an experienced speaker and trainer. Chantal's first 2 children's picture books have been published as fully interactive IOS App picture books by Tizio Publishing and were listed in 3 different best children's book app charts for 2011.
